The Lionite Stack is a symbol of the past, a historic piece that could be preserved otherwise it is going in the scrap pile.
"Save the Stack" Goal: $3500 to have a crane remove the very top piece of the stack for historic preservation. We can repaint it, design something around it, build it into one of our future structures??? Be creative...you let us know. Send email to: contact@pricecountyunited.org
PCUL is reaching out to the multiple generations of employees and families that worked at the mill or other industries on the Lionite site.
What do you want to preserve? What is the historic significance? Send us your stories and photos for the next generations

Exciting times ahead for Phillips, Wi and Price County!!!! Our once in a generation chance to engage our lakefront from a 26 acre idle site to a much more enriching space is here!! Tell us your ideas...we are listening....continue to engage in our community engagement events on our calendar and continue to submit pictures and YOUR perspectives in the Community Change Survey found at the top header or survey icon. After the clean up, what do you want to see??!!

The Lionite Mill property has transitioned to Price County United Limited (PCUL), breaking it free to redevelop and reimagine its space. The property has 141 years of industrial usage. It carried our community from lumber yards to lumber mills, and then by the mid 1900s was recreated into a hardboard plant. Our nonprofit is looking for YOUR perspective on its future use. We are revisioning, reinvesting, and redeveloping. Attend our community engagement meetings, connect with our ongoing survey, upload images of your vision, think BIG and creative!!! ALL perspectives encouraged!!
We have networked and collaborated with professional consultants that have expertise in economic and community development. These professionals include architects, environmental consultants, attorneys, brownfield experts, grant writers, financial specialists, marketing, and specialists in city/urban planning among others. We know the importance of planning and the perspective each of these professionals provide.

Our board members have worked together for over 30 years in various roles. We bring experience in public service of 25ys+each. We have experience with government grant implementation, international and local business expertise, president of the local lake association, lead for the Phillips Mainstreet/connect communities, accounting, finance, community engagement, and collaboration with local communities and government.

We are working on projects that create Gateways to our Historic Downtown Phillips. Hubs of Health, Resiliency, and Community Centers. We are focusing on developing local wealth and sustainability, resilient business models, and solve some of our most pressing challenges, low income, poor health, and early mortality. We are changing the face of Phillips to reimagine and reinvent idle spaces. Collectively creating a vision that our community creates and getting the projects done. The design goal is to create a model that will sustain a vibrant, healthy, and economically resilient community.
